DUO

Making Waves in My Community

I started working in surrounding towns like Locust Valley, Glen Cove, Oyster Bay, and Lattingtown, and noticed a gap in youth engagement in community service. My two friends and I, Tyler and Eliza, came together to found Do Unto Others (DUO). Now, DUO has over 15 members and has made great strides toward combating homelessness in Glen Cove. We have hosted one art show and more on the way, assisted in organizing tens of events, and assisted in serving thousands of meals through the food Pantry NOSH. As some of DUO’s members go off to college, those members are committed to expanding DUO’s reach to a national level through the creation of clubs across college campuses. DUO’s ripples have been felt throughout the community acting as the hub for dozens of organizations to connect to the youth.

NCH Mentorship

As a NCH intern for the 2024 summer I have been tasked with informing the public about the voting history of the congressmen and women who are running for re-election. I am also responsible for informing the public about healthy advocacy practices to effectively share your message. As a member of the Bring America Home Now campaign I have learned a lot about housing issues plaguing our nation, and how our generation can being about the tides of change.
